These videos present conversations with protagonists John Turano and Alexei Wood. In them, each discusses with me the roles they have played in
protest, and their individual experiences in cultural polarization.

In Mr. Turano’s case, the discussion takes place over livestream, which out of fairness to the situation, I agreed he could broadcast from his facebook
profile. For reasons that will become apparent below, and because the conversation contains interesting material and moments of humility worth
remembering, it is included in this project.

In my discussion with Mr. Wood, the viewer may wonder why he is seated next to an empty chair. This is because the conversation was meant to be a
dialog which included Mr. Turano, and one which I thought would demonstrate the potentialities involved in getting two protesters who were thought
of, only by spectacle of the internet, as being on opposite sides, to talk with one another. But, for whatever reasons, while he agreed to the meeting,
Mr. Turano never showed up. Alexei points out to me that John, or one of his friends or family members, may have thought this was a setup, and
convinced him not to go. Mr. Wood explains that he, too, was anxious at the prospect.

In a project about dialog in a time deficient of it, the empty chair was thus kept in, and my conversation with Alexei, included in this project.
